Mitchell S. Jackson with Bookable-Space African-American Lit-Literary Salon
Updated: Oct 31, 2021
I really enjoyed this engaging discussion with Mitchell S. Jackson. His readings from The Residue Years added another dimension to the book. Writing autobiographical fiction is hard. Where does the life end and where does the story begin? What are the rules governing where the two can diverge?
I found the discussion really rewarding. Mitchell generously answered our questions about writing, researching, editing, and writing about real people.
I've been looking forward to this evening ever since he agreed to be my guest. I was glad people could choose between joining us live in Zoom, watching live on Facebook, and watching later on Facebook. This flexibility meant I could reach people when and where they are. The guests who joined us in Zoom were great! They asked really insightful questions.
The salons are the first Fridays of each month from 7-8 PM (London). I thoroughly enjoyed talking with Mitchell and am already looking forward to the next salon.
